FAQs
How do I install and use the classes?
Unzip the class zip files into your global actionscript folder and follow the examples that I have provide with each class. If the folder structure remains the same as it was inside the zip file (it should always be “com” then “plagro” then something else), it should work just fine. If it still isn’t working, make sure that Flash is linking to your global actionscript folder in “Edit > Preferences > Actionscript > Actionscript 3.0 Settings”. If it still isn’t working or you haven’t got a clue what I’m talking about, ask your question on the gotoandlearn.com forums – everyone there is very friendly and happy to help.
Are there any license restrictions on your classes?
No. You can use them to your heart’s content. All I ask is that out of respect you keep the com.plagro path the same and leave in my copyright notices. Also whenever you’re using them, if you’re able, a HTML link back to this website would be lovely…not necessary…but if at all possible it would help keep the site alive.
Who or what is The Burned Out Hippy?
In the words of Douglas Adams, “Eez just zist guy ya know?”.
Can I hire you?
I am now in full-time employment, but I do occasionally accept freelance commissions. If you have something I might be interested in, email thehippy@ or contact me on twitter using @burnedouthippy.
Can you help me/offer me any kind of free support with the classes on this website?
I apologise if my posts aren’t clear enough and lead to people struggling with the classes – I will endeavour to make them as user-friendly as possible. However beyond that I’m afraid that I can’t help you. Not because I don’t want to, simply because 99% of the time I don’t have the time. If you’re stuck with something other than my classes, why not visit the gotoandlearn forums, they’re full of lovely people who do have the time to help you.
Can I contact you directly?
Only if it’s to hire me (see above). Unfortunately I can’t at this time offer one-on-one support.
Fancy a pint?
Absolutely. If you’re in or around London or Canterbury, email me at thehippy@ or contact me on twitter using @burnedouthippy. I’m always up for meeting other developers.
